Matias Giuliani (1975) terminó las licenciaturas en composición y dirección coral en la Universidad Católica Argentina hacia fines de 2002. Paralelamente realizó estudios de manera privada con Francisco Kröpfl y principalmente con Jorge Sad.
Matias Giuliani (1975) was educated at UCA University of Argentina where he completed his studies in both Composition and Choral Conducting at the end of 2002. His composition teachers were Jorge Sad, Julio Viera, Marta Lambertini and Francisco Kropfl. He teaches at the Buenos Aires City Conservatory, the National University of Lanus and Composition at the Contemporary Music Course of Manuel De Falla Conservatory. He obteined the Juan Carlos Paz Composition Competition 2004 & 2008 (1st prize), J.C.Paz Composition Competition 2005 & 2007 (mentions), the TRIME 07 competition (participating in ISCM 08 (Lituania), the Teatro Colon Academic Orchestra Composition Competition (1st prize), the Virtu Maragno Composition Competition (mention), BAU Records Composition Competition, SONOIMAGENES Composition Competition (2nd prize) He received support from Danish Arts Foundings (Interact 2006 workshop, Denmark), the Antorchas Foundation fellowship, the Fondo Nacional de las Artes fellowship, the Mozarteum Foundation support, the Groupe de Recherches Musicales residence (GRM-INA, France) , the EARLAB 08 Workshop invitation with Luca Francesconi (Norway & Italy), the Fondation Royaumont Composers Residence (France), Open Video Conference invitation (NYC, USA), Secretaria de Cultura de la Presidencia de la Nación Fellowship, Atlantic Center for the Arts Fellowship (USA), Scholarship for Excellence in Composition (UCA, Arg.), composition scholarship with Professor Kropfl, Quilmes University Competition 2002 (1st prize). He also received mentions at Vox Novus Festival (New York, 2003), CEFACM Competitions and the IV Electroacoustic Composition Competition at the Cordoba Contemporary Composers' Society. He also presented his works at the Teatro Colon Experimentation Center, Teatro Colon Gold Hall, Codigo Pais Festival, Estudio Abierto festival, etc. Together with Attwood (U.K.) and Baldini (Arg.-Usa), he created the LonBa Ensemble, dedicated to develop and spread contemporary music by British and Argentinian composers. Jointly with S. Diez and A. Kaplan, he founded the "Itinerant Project".
